Casey,

Today, I decided to check out your lemoelformayor.com website and read more about your plans to run from Mayor of Trail. First off, I grew up with your father in Sunningdale, and know your mother. I have heard all the negative slagging you have endured, and want you to know that I have never judged anyone based on hearsay. For what I can tell, you are a consummate entrepreneur, and full of ideas.

Unlike most people, and those politicians who claim to have an exemplary record and moral - ethical high ground, you appear to be a young energetic man that is a doer, and not a talker. Too many people in Trail bad mouth other people based on hearsay. They talk, talk, talk, but never deliver on their promises. And many of them have never done anything positive for the community, and lack vision, and understanding of your people.

I have to say, even though I do not know you personally, and have never had a chance to sit down with you for a discussion to get to know you better. I admire your tenacity and courage to run for Mayor. Good for you. I encourage you. It takes gumption, and a strong will to stand up foe what you believe in, and decide to do what you think is necessary to create a better future for the people in your community.

If there is anything I could suggest to you, it is this to get elderly people's attention, so they better understand your vision for the young people of Trail, and the more you do this, the more elderly people won't fear or misunderstand young people. Encourage people of your generation to volunteer to help older people and pay some attention to them. Gather up a few young people, and take photos and videos of Trail, the hiking trails, the positive things that are happening, etc, and then add your concise vision for a better Trail into the mix, by putting together a short video of no more than 12 minutes and arrange to show it to those elderly people who are shut in to the many elderly homes around Trail. These elderly people offer wisdom, and they would really appreciate learning more about how the community is changing, and what young people like you offer.

I leave you with these two quotes and wish you all the best in your vision for a better community.

Don't try to be somebody you're not because it doesn't work. If you try to be this perfect person or perfect persona of what you think that somebody should be when they're involved in public office, it's just not going to work. Just be yourself, stay true to your core values, and really just stay abreast of the issues. ~ Ben Quayle

Work hard for what you want because it won't come to you without a fight. You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it into something positive.
